The founders met at ESADE where they both got MBAs – the pair has since assembled a team of experts spanning the carbon markets, corporate strategy, finance, and marketing.

Luke Miller

Before founding Offset Options, Luke was a Project Manager for Tesco Compare, a Tesco-Royal Bank of Scotland start-up focused on establishing a marketplace for consumer financial services. Prior to his position at Tesco, Luke worked as a Business Development Manager for the Mongolia Development Gateway NGO where he designed and led projects, developed organisational business plans, and built key relationships with international donors, commercial enterprise, and local communities. Luke holds a BS in IT and an MBA from ESADE Business School.

Olaf Petzschmann

Before founding Offset Options, Olaf spent eight years at Microsoft in Germany as a Senior Consultant. There he managed projects, designed software architectures, and ensured project quality for logistics, telecommunications, and government customers. Olaf holds an MBA from ESADE Business School and a PhD in Physics from Potsdam University.

Diego Fdez. de Velasco Sert
Business Development
Home Country: Spain
Diego has 13+ years of experience in business strategy consulting in the environmental & energy sectors in Spain, primarily in economic analysis for both state-owned and private sector clients. He has been focused in the climate change and sustainability areas, becoming a member of PwC’s international network of experts on climate change and serving as the first contact point in Spain as early as 2000. He also developed one of the first CDM manuals for the European industry. Diego is a Carbon Finance specialist with wide expertise in environmental regulation, policy, strategy and training, as well as in business models, plans and strategies in the energy and environmental sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Conservation from the University of New Hampshire (USA), an MSc in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics from the University College London (UK), and an MBA from IESE (Barcelona, Spain).

Wren Aigaki-Lander

Wren has 10+ years of experience in marketing and sustainability strategy and communications. She combines experience working on behalf of some of the world’s most successful agencies and brands with expertise in smaller, entrepreneurial firms and has played key roles in helping innovators build brands, garner recognition, and claim leadership positions in their respective fields. She has also led corporate social responsibility/sustainability strategy and implementation, including developing strategies for impact reduction (energy efficiency, waste, sustainable sourcing, carbon emissions), stakeholder engagement and communications, and corporate philanthropy. Wren holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California (Los Angeles, California) and an MBA from ESADE (Barcelona, Spain).

Jörn Gieschen

Jörn is Offset Options’ expert for the global travel & tourism industry. His career includes among other steps over 5 years as Senior Manager Corporate Development at TUI AG, the world’s largest tourism group, and over 3 years as Director of Destination Strategy & Marketing at THR International, one of the world’s leading tourism consulting firms. Typical projects under his guidance included business development strategies, international marketing plans, corporate branding or product innovation projects, amongst others. Jörn has been working around the world with public clients such as Tourism Ministries, National and Regional Tourism Boards, international institutions like UNWTO, GTI, EU, etc. and with leading private sector clients. Jörn holds both German and Dutch Bachelors of International Economics of the business schools in Münster (D) and Rotterdam (NL).

Steve Green
Carbon Markets Specialist

Steve has spent his entire career dedicated to sustainability and climate change issues – he is an expert in sustainability and climate change strategy, sustainability reporting, stakeholder engagement and carbon policy and markets. Steve began his career at the NSW Government’s Sustainable Energy Development Authority (SEDA) and has since worked with a range of leading organisations – spanning the private, public and NGO sectors – on sustainability and climate change initiatives. At SEDA, Steve specialised in business energy efficiency programme development and coordination, communications and behavioural change. Following SEDA, Steve worked as a Sustainability Advisor to Westpac Banking Corporation, a global sector leader in sustainability. Steve managed the development of a range of Environmental, Social and Governance initiatives for Westpac with a particular focus on climate change, sustainability and greenhouse reporting and policy development. Steve has also held commercial roles in a number of start–up climate change and carbon businesses. These roles saw Steve lead carbon advisory services, manage a range of carbon market and trading activities and work closely with financial institutions, mining and resource companies on carbon management, project development and in realising carbon opportunities. Most recently, Steve has been working with Nestlé Oceania on the development of its first sustainability report. Steve’s academic background is in marketing and communications.
Tilde Frostholm

Tilde works in Strategic Planning at Fritz Schur Technical Group, a supplier of hydraulic systems for wind turbines. Her work includes participation in setting corporate and business-level strategies, including international expansion, for the group’s companies. Tilde’s previous experience includes positions with Copenhagen Airports and COOP Denmark. She holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration from Open University, Kolding and an MBA from ESADE.
